Illustration

Catherine specializes in illustration with a digital stylus and both coloured (metallic) and traditional pencil. Digitally speaking, working with a hand held input device offers a great deal of accuracy and control which is essential in Catherine’s view, for good illustration. The digital images were all created for different projects, from studies for a Children’s book dealing with young girls and hijab in the classroom, to Tooker Gomberg’s memorial booklet. The pencil work; are examples of traditional drawing methods. Catherine handles topical subject matter with sensitivity and both her elegant line work and traditional pieces reflect her substantial drawing skills. Boldly expressed; sensual yet delicate, these drawings convey Catherine’s many years of the practice and the art of drawing.
