A piece honouring Wendat Clan Mothers of the five nations of the Wendat Confederacy, on display at REMOTE Gallery last year – the Fire Over Water install was also at Crawford Lake in June 2022. The vitrine honours Helena Conley, a Wyandot woman from Kansas who worked to protect her Ancestors’ burial spaces at the Huron Cemetery (Now the Wyandotte National Burial Ground), in Kansas City, Kansas. Acrylic and Red Ochre on canvas. 30×30 with palisades, bunting and horsehair, lavendar red ochre ~ a fragment of an evening dress~ and acorn stuffed pillow with beading.  Red Willow and moose hair cones.  Title to come. iphone photo.
